Pinkie delivers big sum for charity

by isleofman.com 24th May 2013

A unique pink snack machine launched by Mann Vend as a fun initiative to raise money for an Island cancer charity has doubled its target.

The vending machine named Pinkie is branded with Breakthrough Breast Cancer's pink ribbon logo.

It has spend the past 12 months moving around the Island between businesses, factories and offices as well as public sites such including the Sea Terminal and Isle of Man Airport.

The aim was to raise ?2000 by donating the profits of all snacks sold through Pinkie.

That goal has been exceeded by 100 per cent - and a cheque for ?4000 has been handed to the charity at a presentation at its current location, post office headquarters.

Pinkie was the idea of Mann Vend managing director Tracey Leahy, who says the company has been overwhelmed by the support of local firms over the past year.
