Change in MEA Chairman

by isleofman.com 22nd May 2013
After 8 years as a Board Member and latterly Chairman of MEA, Eddie Lowey has been succeeded by Howard Quayle MHK as Chairman of the Manx Electricity Authority.

On relinquishing his final role for IoM Government, Mr Lowey said, “It has been a privilege for me to have been involved in the MEA for the past 8 years and I can sincerely say it has been one of my most enjoyable roles throughout my entire political career. I wish the staff and Mr Quayle MHK all my sincerest best wishes for a positive future for the Authority”.

New Chairman Howard Quayle MHK said, “I have paid much interest in the MEA over recent years and indeed recent weeks following the response to the storms.  It was by choice that I put my name forward for this position which I am delighted to accept following approval from Tynwald yesterday.  I would like to pay tribute to Mr Lowey for all his hard work and wish him the very best in his retirement.  I look forward to the challenges ahead, working with the team and steering the MEA on a positive course in to the future.”
