The President of Tynwald, the Hon Clare Christian, has welcomed two eminent Rotarians to Tynwald.

The visit of RIBI (Rotary International Great Britain & Ireland) President John Minhinick with his wife Sheila and Rotary District 1280 (North West England and the Isle of Man) Governor Colin Ince with his wife Cally was organised at the request of former President of Tynwald and past Rotary Club of Douglas President Noel Cringle OBE who, together with current Rotary Club of Douglas President Bob Dowty, accompanied the party on a tour of the chambers.

Madam President, who conducted the tour, said: ‘On an international level the Rotary organisation is to be commended for helping to meet the basic needs of the disadvantaged and its work in the eradication of polio, while at district level the energy and commitment Rotarians devote to local communities benefits the lives of many individuals. The Rotary movement, noted for its inspirational leaders, has the power to make very real differences in the world and it was therefore a pleasure to welcome distinguished Rotarians Mr Minhinick and Mr Ince to Tynwald.’
