A Colby businesswoman has joined a new accountancy and tax practice aimed at delivering professional services to both corporate and private clients in an affordable yet easy to understand way.
Pauline Smith, ACA, has moved to Greenwave Chartered Accountants to provide technical, problem-solving solutions for businesses and individuals who require a bespoke, personal service which complements their busy professional or personal lives.
As well as being highly experienced and knowledgeable across all areas of financial practice, Pauline also has considerable experience dealing with local businesses and residents, Manx laws, international companies, trust administration and e-Gaming.
Greenwave Chartered Accountants offers the following services to both Isle of Man and UK residents and companies:
• Preparation of personal tax returns
• Company incorporation
• Preparation of annual accounts, annual returns and other statutory requirements
• Company tax returns
• Corporate tax services
• Book-keeping
• VAT
• Payroll
After completing her training with PwC in the Isle of Man, Pauline progressed to Audit Senior level, looking after the auditing requirements of a number of large corporations, before moving to a local Chartered Accountancy practice. Here she was responsible for managing the accounting, tax and audit needs for its key clients, before joining Abacus where she gained valuable experience within the Corporate Service and Trust arenas.
Pauline then took another significant career promotion and moved to a Fiduciary Service Provider and Accountancy practice based in the south of the Island. As Accountancy Manager she had responsibility for overseeing all local clients, as well as the accounting and tax requirements of the trust and corporate services work.
The founding Director of Greenwave Chartered Accountants is a former PwC Audit Manager with more than ten years of Manx, UK, American and international tax and accounting experience.
Commenting on her new role with Greenwave Chartered Accountants, Pauline said: “Accounting and tax management is very often seen as time-consuming or incomprehensible, either in a personal capacity or by those running a business, and so we aim to make this as smooth a process as possible. As a working parent myself, I can sympathise with individuals who are trying to juggle the legal requirements of running a business alongside family life, and I understand how hard it is to find someone that you trust with managing your personal tax affairs.
“We really do care about helping businesses run more efficiently and cost effectively, or sorting out tax issues for our clients when they’ve been worrying about them. Implementing easy to understand solutions and communicating openly is key, alongside providing a first-class, value for money service.
“Greenwave is here to offer an affordable and professional service, tailor-made to the individual needs of our clients. Our comprehensive international tax and accountancy knowledge is exceptional, and we are looking forward to using this to provide a stress-free technical solution for anyone who needs it.”
In her spare time Pauline, who was educated at Castle Rushen High School, enjoys spending quality family time with her husband and three young children, and is training to be a Leader with the Scouting network on the Island.
