The Association of Corporate Service Providers has arranged a seminar on Thursday May 23rd with Saionton Basu, head of the India Group at London law firm Penningtons.
Mr Basu has chosen for his topic Doing Business with India: The Legal and Regulatory Framework. His presentation will cover the continent’s macro-level regulatory environment including foreign investment, exchange control restrictions, types and modes of business entity formation, repatriation of profits, royalty payments, dispute resolution and arbitration mechanisms.
There will also be discussion on investment documentation and its drafting and an outline of the negotiation nuances to be expected when conducting business in India.
The session, sponsored by Barclays, will be held at the Upper Hall, Loch Promenade Church, Douglas, with registration at 12noon for a prompt 12.30pm start. Subject to the number of questions and contributions from the audience the presentation is expected to finish by around 1.30pm.
