Property firm helps Manx farmers

by isleofman.com 23rd April 2013

Island property investment company Quay Properties plc has donated ?10,000 to the Isle of Man Agricultural Benevolent Trust to help farmers badly affected by the recent severe weather get back on their feet.

Managing director Julian Ashcroft says the Braddan-based firm has supported many local charities over a number of years and has never before sought publicity. He says it is doing so on this occasion to encourage other companies to show similar support, either with a donation to the Trust or by supporting the fund-raising event being held around the Island.

Directors of the ABT recently confirmed they have already distributed emergency support in response to the most pressing requests. Numerous referrals have been received and will be appraised once the full scale of the impact of the extreme weather is clear.

The Trust has thanked all those who have donated or plan to raise funds to donate to its work in support of the Island's farming community.
