•         The Register retains its important ISO 9001:2008 accreditation and on the USCG Qualship21 list of quality states
•         Growing globally – increased number of external surveyors to nine based in strategic locations around the world

Dick Welsh, director of the Isle of Man Ship Registry said: “2012 was another successful year for the Ship Registry, which continues to thrive, despite the challenging global economic  environment. The registry has increased its tonnage by nearly 8 per cent exceeding 15 million gross registered tonnes. With the ratification of the MLC in 2012, the Ship Registry team has made progress on drafting the regulations as well as beginning approval and inspection process on board Isle of Man registered vessels. High quality of service remains a key attribute of the registry and we successfully retained the important ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, as well as our white list positions on the Paris and Tokyo for MOUs for Port State Control. Over the next year we look forward to building on these successes and continue to attract new ship owners and operators.”
