Lloyds TSB seeks 'Golden Trousers'

by isleofman.com 13th April 2013

Have you got the right skills to make the wrong trousers?

That's the question being put to schoolchildren on the Island by Lloyds TSB, which has launched a "Golden Trousers competition" ahead of a visit to the Isle of Man in June by famous plasticine duo Wallace and Gromit.

The pair will be here to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their Wrong Trousers Day, a national event in aid of Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity, which raises funds to improve the quality of life for children in hospitals and hospices throughout the British Isles.

On Wrong Trousers Day thousands of people from all walks of life pay a pound to swap their normal clothes and dress up in something weird, wacky, or just plain wrong.

Lloyds TSB staff from around the Island will be helping to raise funds for the charity during Wallace and Gromit's three-day visit.

Last year the charity gave almost ?2 million to 198 projects in children's hospitals and hospices.

The winning "wrong trousers" design will actually be manufactured, and the designer will receive a goodie bag and a visit to their school from the daring duo.

More details on how to enter the competition can be found at wallaceandgromitfoundation.org/isle-of-man
