The Communications Commission invites applications for a licence to provide a radio service on the FM waveband, for a maximum period of 10 years from the commencement of broadcasting.

One of the three existing Broadcasting Licences granted under the Broadcasting Act 1993 as amended (“the Act”) will expire in July 2013. The current Licensee broadcasts its service, Energy FM, on frequencies between 91.2 MHz and 105.2 MHz throughout the Isle of Man. With a view to any successful applicant being able to commence broadcasting from the 20 July 2013, the Commission will need to receive completed applications in respect of the above frequencies by the 19 April 2013.

Anyone interested in seeking a licence to broadcast a terrestrial radio service on the Isle of Man should be aware that licences can only be granted if frequencies are available and if applications satisfy all the criteria set out in the Act.
