Education gone wild

by isleofman.com 19th March 2013

Nedbank Private Wealth’s Sustainability Forum started the year by educating staff on local wildlife and endangered species. Kath Smith, Manx Wildlife Trust’s Education Officer, spoke to staff about the interesting creatures found right on their doorsteps and helped staff to understand the impact they have on the local environment.

Natasha Breen, Head of the Sustainability Forum at Nedbank Private Wealth, said: “After the success of our Sustainability Forum initiatives last year, we were keen to make staff more aware of these important issues and the amazing wildlife in their own gardens and neighbourhoods.  We were delighted that Kath could talk so passionately about the Manx wildlife and the importance of it in our environment. We place great value on ongoing development and wellbeing of our employees, in addition to giving something back to our community, and this was recently recognised when we were once again listed in the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For 2013.”

Nedbank Private Wealth has been a long-standing supporter of Manx Wildlife Trust, through the Charity’s Corporate Membership scheme, and recently the wealth management company announced its sponsorship of the vital role of Education Officer.  This role is critical in order to educate children about wildlife and let them see for themselves what they are surrounded by in the Isle of Man.
