STEP Isle of Man is delighted to announce the launch of a new member service which will provide trustees and private client practitioners with an understanding of the level of investment performance they should expect.
Trustee Managed Portfolio Indices (TMPI), produced by the Enhance Group Limited, is now available to all STEP members and to explain the new service further STEP Isle of Man is staging a special presentation at the Claremont Hotel in Douglas on Wednesday 20th March. The event will include speakers Russell Bussey, STEP representative, Enhance MPI Group, and Richard Sayers Chief Executive Officer of Enhance Group Limited. Booking in and refreshments will be available from 12.30pm and the hour-long presentation will start at 1pm.
Chairman of STEP Isle of Man Paul Hotchkiss said: “This new service will be of great benefit to all STEP members and we are delighted to welcome our special guest speakers to explain the Trustee Managed Portfolio Indices in greater detail. As a result of this service trustees will be provided with a standard terminology for communicating their tolerance for investment risk with the investment management industry.
“The Indices will also give investment managers a clearer risk benchmark which does not limit their investment process or options. With wide benefits across the financial services industries, the service aims to improve the level of communication and understanding between investment managers, private client practitioners and trustees both in the United Kingdom and internationally.”
Russell Bussey, a STEP Private Client Awards Judge, will act as an on-going advisor to the service. He will assist STEP members and also liaise with the investment management community. He has worked in the Private Client industry for over 30 years, beginning at the forerunner of Taylor Wessing, the international law firm. Having held director level positions at Kleinwort Benson, UBS and Credit Suisse, Russell is able to call upon a wealth of skills.
Richard Sayers is a Special Advisor for the STEP Private Client Awards and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is a fellow and holds the Personal Charter for the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and was President of the Jersey Branch of the CISI from 2009 to 2011. He has over 17 years’ experience in the finance sector including seven years as a discretionary portfolio manager specialising in solutions for trustees. He has a thorough and practical understanding of effective portfolio and risk management having managed money.
