New office opening to celebrate success on Island and team expansion

by isleofman.com 21st February 2013
On Tuesday 19th February, Senior Account Executive David Wilkinson and his team opened the doors to the new NFU Mutual office in South Quay in Douglas.

The opening was performed by the leading rural insurer’s Group Chief Executive, Lindsay Sinclair, in celebration of the new premises and the branch’s continued success.

The event boasted a formal yet relaxed atmosphere complimented by champagne and canapes. There was a brilliant turnout in excess of 30 guests which included the Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne MHK as well as members of the Manx National Farmers Union.

David Wilkinson, recently appointed Senior Account Executive, said:  “Our open day has marked the continued success of the team and the work that has been put in, in order to sustain a new, more centralised location.

“NFU Mutual has been present on the Isle of Man for over 60 years. My team has strong attachments to the Island and its people and we hope the office move will encourage more existing and potential members to visit us.”

To mark the new office opening and in support of the local community, the NFU Mutual South Quay branch made a significant donation of ?3,720 to the Naseem’s Manx Brain Tumour Charity.*

Gerry Pishvaie, representative for the Naseem’s Manx Brain Tumour Charity said: “Our aim is to support Island residents who have a brain tumour by giving them financial support and providing the latest information about brain tumours on our website.

“We would like to thank NFU Mutual for their generosity which will enable our ongoing support to brain tumour sufferers.”

Prior to working for NFU Mutual, David worked for 20 years in the finance sector on the Island. He now heads up the NFU Mutual South Quay branch with his colleagues Danielle Bradley and Justine Gaisford-Martin.

The branch has made a number of new appointments over the last few years growing from a team of four to a well established team of 11. The team put the success of the agency down to their local knowledge and therefore their ability to meet the insurance needs of those who live and work on the Island.
