International E-Gaming community endorse the Isle of Man as a centre of excellence

by isleofman.com 12th February 2013

SMP Partners, the Isle of Man headquartered corporate services provider, today announces that following a series of highly successful meetings held at the ICE Totally Gaming Exhibition in London last week, a number of new operators and software companies have joined SMP's portfolio and demonstrated their confidence in the Isle of Man as a centre of excellence.

David Hudson, Group Director at SMP Partners commented; “ICE Totally Gaming is a coming together of the world’s e-gaming community and as such, our e-gaming team are strong ambassadors for the Isle of Man's Department of Economic Development in promoting the Island as a highly attractive jurisdiction in which to base e-gaming related operations. At the exhibition we not only met a significant number of new potential entrants to the Island's licensing regime, but with a large number of pre-arranged meetings held over the three day event, we also secured a significant amount of new business that will be establishing operations on the Island over the coming months.

Commenting on the growth of SMP Partners' e-gaming department, Mr Hudson said; "For the second year running, we have provided consulting, project management and on-going support to over 60% of the Island’s applicants for e-gaming licenses issued by the Gambling Supervision Commission ("GSC"). Together with the applications currently lodged with the GSC, we will soon represent almost 50% of the Island's licensed e-gaming community. It is very evident that the experience and capability of our e-gaming team and the breadth of service offered, gives us a compelling proposition to which other providers can only aspire."

Steve McGowan, Chairman of SMP Partners commented, “This is a remarkable achievement. Our position as the leading provider of corporate and accounting services to this growing sector has been further consolidated during 2012 and we continue to attract a broad range of e-gaming related businesses to invest in the Island. In 2009 we took the decision to invest in the sector and to build a specialist, multi-disciplined team to serve the diverse needs of the e-gaming entrepreneur and more established international operators. The fact that we now look after a very large percentage of the Island’s licensed e-gaming fraternity fully endorses that decision and is testimony to the quality and breadth of the service being offered. Our team's success at ICE is further good news for the Isle of Man and I am sure will lead to new employment opportunities both for us and our clients in the coming months."

Ed Andrewes, Director of Locus Gaming is full of praise for the SMP team. He said “The selection of a corporate service provider is a critical decision and SMP certainly stand out from the crowd. During the licensing process SMP staff demonstrated themselves to be knowledgeable, efficient, pragmatic and thorough, and they were a huge help in navigating the regulation and indeed getting Jack Gold casino live. Its early days for us as a live operation, but SMP continue to offer invaluable support.”
