The search is on for former Junior Achievement and Young Enterprise company programme students in the Isle of Man who have gone on to achieve career success.
Their success stories could feature, along with others across the JA-YE European network, in a book, Changing Lives, being compiled by Norwegian professional JA-YE mentor Thor-Erik Gulliksen.
Junior Achievement Isle of Man’s chief executive Sue Cook said: ‘The JA-YE company programme is acknowledged as a powerful tool for teaching young people entrepreneurial and work-readiness skills. With this in mind we’d like to hear from men and women in the Island, aged roughly between 18 and 35, who took part in the company programme and, inspired by the experience, went on to enjoy success in their chosen careers, perhaps even starting their own business.
‘Anyone who comes forward won’t be asked to give much of their time; in the first instance they’ll just be sent a questionnaire to complete. Those selected as potential subjects will then be interviewed by phone at a later date.’
Sue added: ‘As a JA-YE model organisation it’s only fitting that the Isle of Man has been invited to feature in this book aimed at inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs.’
