CISI success for Scottish Widows employee

by isleofman.com 5th February 2013

Steven Murphy has passed his final Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) exam to gain his investment operations certificate.

Mr Murphy, an investment supervision officer at Scottish Widows, part of the Lloyds Banking Group, completed the two-year examination programme during which he was mentored by the company’s Isle of Man director Juan Clarke.

Mr Clarke, who is one of only a few investment professionals in the Island to hold CISI Chartered Fellow status, has been delivering CISI coaching for a number of years. He said: ‘The group is committed to supporting continuing professional development and I am equally passionate about supporting colleagues’ studies to advance their careers and help drive up standards in an industry where benchmark qualifications are essential.

‘The in-house coaching sessions provide opportunities for exam entrants to exchange study experiences and explore common themes in an environment where my role is largely that of facilitator. I am delighted that Steven has achieved this globally recognised financial services qualification which will enhance his knowledge and career progression and make a significant contribution to the business.’
