Iconic brand Thunderstruck II now available on mobile

Microgaming announces the launch of its legendary video slot Thunderstruck II, to its Mobile Air client, which is Android and iOS compatible.

Originally launched in May 2010 on the casino platform,  Thunderstruck II was the first online video slot to implement gamification through an innovative player achievements memory structure, whereby returning players’ past wins are recorded, allowing for a cumulative pursuit of rewards.  Thunderstruck II now brings this experience onto mobile, which is sure to keep mobile players fully absorbed in the game.

As a game well-known for its striking graphics and memorable characters, Microgaming has ensured that the same quality and performance are delivered through the Mobile Air client.   To achieve this, Thunderstruck II optimises the device’s hardware and directly uses the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) to radically improve the speed and graphics of the game.  This enables the game to deliver a sophisticated, engaging gaming experience through high frame rate animations and seamless playability.

Neill Whyte, Head of Product Channels, Microgaming, explains: “The use of hardware acceleration is transforming the way we develop our games for the mobile arena.  It allows us to put our world-leading game titles onto the mobile platform, incorporating all of the graphics, effects and features that made the slot such a hit on the PC platform. Thunderstruck II is arguably one of our most popular and successful games, so it’s a great addition to our Mobile Air client.”
