Barclays has been named Offshore Private Bank of the Year in the Citywealth International Financial Centre Awards.

Rick Denton, Head of Client Delivery for Wealth Advisory, was also presented with the Editor’s Choice Award on the night.

The awards ceremony, which was held at the Landmark Hotel in London on Thursday 24 January, was hosted by former Cabinet Minister Michael Portillo.

“It was very unexpected but a brilliant surprise to receive the Citywealth Editor’s Choice Award,” said Mr Denton.

“This award acknowledges the hard work, dedication and capability of the whole Wealth Advisory team at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management as well as recognition of my personal achievements in the offshore industry.”

Barclays was nominated for the Offshore Private Bank award along with four other private banks based in Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.

“It is a fantastic achievement to win Citywealth’s Offshore Private Bank of the Year award and for Rick to be selected by the publication for its Editor’s Choice Award,” said Paul Savery, managing director, Barclays International, Intermediaries and Direct.

“These awards highlight Barclays expertise in the private banking field as well as the quality of the services and advice that we offer our clients.”

The Citywealth International Financial Centre Awards were established to highlight the excellence of the advisors and managers in the private wealth sector in the major international financial centres.

The awards were judged by an international panel of respected practitioners from all sectors with experience of working with advisors in offshore jurisdictions.
