Manx Telecom team to attend ICE eGaming expo

by isleofman.com 29th January 2013

Manx Telecom will be showcasing its world class eGaming services at the ICE Totally Gaming expo in London in February. ICE is the world’s biggest eGaming expo and this year will have more than 400 exhibitors from 54 international jurisdictions making it a ‘must attend’ event for operators, regulators, and suppliers in all sectors of the industry. Manx Telecom will be represented by Stuart Paul, Data Centres Director; Fergal McKenna, Sales Director; John Dunne, Corporate Sales Account Manager; Stephen Trimble, Hosting and Solutions Manager; and Gavin Smith, Marketing Communications Supervisor.

Stuart Paul commented:

“ICE is the world’s leading showcase for eGaming technology and innovation, so it’s the ideal arena in which to present the world class services we offer to potential clients. The Manx Telecom team will be meeting established and new eGaming businesses to explore new opportunities to build upon our already impressive portfolio of clients in this sector. Attendance at ICE is essential for all businesses involved in eGaming so it is vital that Manx Telecom has a strong representation.”

Manx Telecom will be supporting the Isle of Man Government eGaming delegation on stand number S2-240. Ray Davies, eGaming Development Manager at the Department of Economic Development, welcomed the presence of Manx Telecom at ICE and commented:
“ICE is the perfect place to showcase the Isle of Man’s eGaming sector and it’s vital for us to have a strong representation in order to attract new business. As always, we’re pleased to see the level of support that the Department has received from a wide range of Island businesses involved in eGaming.”

ICE Totally Gaming is being held at London’s ExCel for the first time and will run from February 5 to 7.

Kate Chambers, Director of Gaming at Clarion Events which organises the expo, said:

“Our marketing theme for 2013 has been ‘think big’ and I’m delighted to say that the creative we have been running throughout the international media channels has lived up to the reality of what visitors will see at ExCeL London when the doors open on the 5th February for the first edition at our new home. There’s absolutely no way that any buyer of gaming equipment would be able to see so many leading companies without spending at least nine months of the year on a plane: at ICE you can do the equivalent in three days – although it’s a hugely busy three days admittedly! ICE is an event which provides a shop window on absolutely everything that’s taking place in gaming and, most importantly, gaming from every geographical perspective.”

She added that visitor numbers were expected to be even higher than last year when the event attracted more than 21,000. That 2012 figure itself was a 4.2% increase on 2011, and there was a 14.2% increase in 2011 compared to 2010 - all of which is a reflection of the growth of ICE and the eGaming sector in general.
