Gains for Ubuntu

by isleofman.com 21st January 2013

Figures from one of the world’s largest game distributors shows a Manx company is making inroads on PCs.

Valve’s statistics for its online Steam system, which delivers video games over internet connections, show Douglas-based Canonical Software’s Ubuntu Linux grew in popularity in December.

The figures show versions 12.04 and 12.10 of Ubuntu in both 32 and 64-bit flavours made slight gains on the previous month.

However, in terms of market share the operating system is still dwarfed by Microsoft Windows and Apple’s Mac OS.
