Changes to employment law

by isleofman.com 3rd March 2006
Far-reaching changes to employment law in the Isle of Man will be of benefit to employer and employee alike.

That’s the belief of Trade and Industry Minister Alex Downie who’s welcomed the progression of the Employment Bill which has received its third reading in the Legislative Council.

It updates legislation on a range of issues - from maternity rights and union membership to protection for so-called 'whistle blowers'.

Mr Downie says while there’s to be more consultation, he believes a good relationship between employers and employees stands that in good stead.
