Balcony house on agenda

The Tynwald Select Committee examining the future of an historic Castletown building is to resume hearing evidence today. (Friday) The committee was formed to investigate storm damage at Number Five The Parade, which is next door to Balcony House, the former home of Battle of Trafalgar hero Captain John Quilliam. Auctor wants to deregister and demolish Number Five The Parade and redevelop the site, which will include the refurbishment and reinstatement of Balcony House. Amongst the evidence, the committee will hear from speaker of the House of Keys, Castletown MHK Tony Brown, and director of planning, Ian McCauley.
