Fishing without licences

by isleofman.com 3rd March 2006
Two Douglas youths who fished out of season and without licences have appeared before the Deputy High Bailiff.

17 year old Christopher David Clague of Keppel Road, and Sam Reeder,18, of Watterson Close admitted the offence.

Rachel Braidwood, prosecuting on behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry, said the pair had been seen fishing on January 9th at Tromode by a river watcher.

They admitted they did not have a licence and said they didn't know that it was the closed season because they normally went sea fishing.

Mr Montgomery said the two could be assessed for community service, and bailed both to March 21st.
