More snow on the way!

by isleofman.com 4th March 2006
More snow is on the way for the Isle of Man! Heavy falls overnight left much of the eastern side of the Island under a blanket several inches deep on Saturday morning. Gritters and snow ploughs were out on the major routes from the early hours. Police advised motorists not to use their cars unless they had to. The sunshine helped airport workers de-ice the runway and flights began to leave Ronaldsway from 8.30am. The forecast was for more snow and hail showers in the afternoon, with temperatures falling to freezing again on Saturday evening. David Boultbee at the Met Office says after last week's flurries, the latest white stuff came as a bit of a surprise (audio file attached): (Picture: A snowy scene at Douglas Head on Saturday morning).
