Whistleblowers

The Department of Health is to introduce a policy to protect whistleblowers.

Onchan MHK Peter Karran (pictured) asked Health Minister Steve Rodan what had happened to his department's policy regarding the safeguarding of the practice.

Mr Rodan says his department acknowledged the sensitivity of the issue, and tried to protect staff who may be whilstleblowers.

However he conceded that this was not an ideal situation and a proper policy regarding the practice was now being formulated:
