Anglers are being asked to submit their catch returns for the 2005 river fishing season.
The forms were introduced in 2003 to allow the Fisheries Department to monitor the stocks of Salmon and Sea Trout in the Island's rivers and streams.
So far 136 returns have been received out of a total of 491 river licences sold last year.
Whilst this is an improvement on previous years, it still only represents 27.6% of the total licences sold.
Anyone who held a licence last year should submit their returns whether they caught anything or not.
More information can be obtained from Inland Fisheries Development manager Karen McHarg on 686044.
The new river fishing season starts on Friday 10th March
