Electronic ballot

It was an historic moment at this month’s Douglas council meeting when members used electronic voting for the first time in Manx History.

Councillors unanimously agreed to send a letter to the UK government opposing the possible title change of the lieutenant Governor.

All members plan to sign the correspondence.

The UK’s Department of Constitutional Affairs is currently considering Tynwald’s request to change the title.

These Douglas councillors simply disagree with the name Crown Commissioner:
