Museum talk

by isleofman.com 10th March 2006
Strange seaside tales of terror and surprise is the title of a talk at the Manx Museum this evening (Friday).

Professor Trevor Norton’s talk will reveal how society’s view of the beach changed from horror to infatuation, involving the topics of monsters and mermaids; piers on wheels and saucy postcards the public was not allowed to see.

Professor Norton’s lecture, entitled ‘We Do Like To Be Beside the Seaside’, will start at 7.30pm and admission is free.
