Drunk and disorderly

Sentence on a 37 year old man has been adjourned for reports.

James McNamara, of Oxford Street, Douglas, admitted being drunk and disorderly and affray.

Sergeant Helen Mason, prosecuting, said the defendant was in the Pool room of the Rosemount Hotel, Douglas, at 5pm on February 19th, when he deliberately approached a man and punched him in the face.

The man, Martin Doherty fell to the floor unconscious and was then kicked in the head and face. Police attended and saw Doherty who was dazed and confused.

They found McNamara near to the museum. He told police he had too much to drink and could not remember anything.

He was bailed until March 29th.
