In the battle to avoid the drop, picking up any points at all is absolutely vital so while Vagabonds will be disappointed not to have taken maximum points from their EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One tie against Sandbach, they’ll be happy to have come away with something. Prop-cum-hooker Adam Matheson put Vagas on the way with an early try but Sandbach countered to lead the game 8-5 at half time. Division One’s leading point scorer Jonny Beckley levelled the scores for Vagas in the second half with a penalty but he will be ruing two first half misses which could have snatched both points for Vagas as the rest of the second half remained scoreless.
