Call to examine tenancy agreements

by isleofman.com 11th March 2006
Peel MHK Hazel Hannan will ask Tynwald to set up a select committee to examine tenancy agreements issued by the Department of Local Government and the Environment and local authorities. Later this month, she’ll ask for a three strong group to look into the Common Tenancy Agreement. In her motion due to be put before Tynwald when it sits a week on Tuesday, Mrs Hannan says she wants the committee to report back in June. She says she wants to consider the agreement’s provisions and recognition of the law, as well as whether it’s in the best interest of the tenant and landlord. And she also wants to investigate whether it breaches any legislation or conventions.
