Union Mills and Braddan could look back on March 11 as the day they ensured they would go on to seal promotion to Manx football’s top flight.
That’s after the top two both defeated championship rivals to put a massive dent in Colby’s promotion hopes and almost certainly end the Police’s aspirations.
The Millers stayed one point clear at the top after goals from Danny McMahon, David Thomenny and Carl Dobbin sealed a 3-2 home victory over Colby, for whom Alan Harrison and Dan Kelly scored.
Meanwhile, the division’s leading marksman, David Kinrade, and Gary Burns were on target for Braddan in a 2-1 win at the Police, whose reply came from Steve Gardner.
Elsewhere, Onchan were pushed all the way before defeating battling bottom club Jurby 6-4 after goals from Lee Astin, Liam Buckley, Steve McIntosh and Mark Walmsley, plus two own goals.
Jurby had held their opponents to 1-1 at the break.
Douglas and District triumphed 5-2 at Malew after a Laurence Looney hat-trick and goals from Daniel Clague and Peter Kirkham.
John Kelly and Remo Riccardi were the Malew scorers.
And there were ten goals at Ronaldsway who were beaten 6-4 by Michael with Jamie Moffatt netting a hat-trick for the westerners.
Michael Perks also scored a double with Danny Chalk chipping in.
Michael scored ALL SIX of their goals in the first half.
Nathan Chorley, Mark Wolfenden (two) and Benny Binns were the Rockets’ scorers.
