Pulrose problem housing

Douglas Corporation is insisting it is doing everything possible to speed-up the modernisation of homes in the Upper Pulrose estate.

In a disturbing account on Manx Radio yesterday, one resident spoke of the squalid conditions at her cold, damp home in the inner circle.

The Corporation says it is moving as fast as it can - monies have been secured from government to upgrade homes in the area, some of which still don't have central heating.

Council leader Linda Ramsay (pictured) says her officers have taken every step to ensure the project moves forward as quickly as possible:
