Skillicorn top Manx finisher in Pendle

Simon Skillicorn finished a brilliant 9th in Saturday's Half Tour of Pendle in East Lancashire.

There were over 250 starters with 235 finishing a tough nine mile course based at Barley Village.

The race was won by British International Ian Holmes running for Bingley with last years Manx Mountain Marathon winner Paul Thompson from the promoting club Clayton Le Moors in second. Paul is returning to defend his Manx title at Easter.

Simon led an 8 strong team of Manx Fell Runners who recorded some excellent performances. Richard Jamieson was 34th, Mike Quine was 37th, Tom Cringle was 41st, Richard Sille was 59th, Phil Cain was 66th, Tony Rowley was 72nd and Richie Stevenson was 163rd.
