Gun crime debated in Keys

Police have measures in place to minimise the risk of gun crime creeping into the Isle of Man.

Home Affairs Minster John Shimmin gave details in the Keys this morning of what his Department was doing to deal with the threat, which was highlighted in a question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran.

Mr Shimmin said the effective use of criminal intelligence, together with policing tactics which use disruptive tactics against offenders, are at the forefront of the policing response.

However, he told the House that legislative controls were also being established:
