Foxdale Uganda programme

by isleofman.com 15th March 2006
There's just under a month to go before Manx Radio listeners will be given an insight into a unique school project.

Foxdale Primary School is twinned with the Good Hope Primary School in Uganda.

In recent months pupils have sent school equipment and other luxuries to children there, and a parent from the Isle of Man has also been to visit.

Foxdale Primary pupils and staff are working with Manx Radio to produce a programme about the project. It will be broadcast on April 14th.

It will include an interview with the Archbishop of York, the Right Reverend John Sentamu (pictured), who rarely gives interviews, but was touched about the interest being shown in his homeland.

One of the main themes of the programme will be 'it takes a whole village to raise a child'.
