Tynwald has voted in support of a ?1.5 million extention of the Airports Departure lounge.
The changes would provide 70 additional seats upstairs and 100 seats downstairs.
There will also be six departure gates.
This would enable low cost airlines such as easy jet to achieve fast turn around times.
But the extension will not include smoking facilities for passengers despite the fact public consultation has yet to take place.
