by isleofman.com 23rd March 2006
Three Island athletes have been competing on day eight of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. Andrew Roche was in action for the second time in 48 hours, this time in the Mountain Bike event, and he suffered two falls but was unhurt in registering 20th from 29 starters – his time was outside the two and a half hour limit. Meanwhile, GB internationals, Tim Kneale and Neil Parsons, were going for glory in the double trap individual shoot. But, in the fierce sun, failed to qualify for the Olympic final, finishing in joint 11th place on 126 clays from 150. England’s Steve Walton achieved a rare 50 out of 50 in his first series.
