The Trade and Industry Minister is reassuring the Manx Public and politicians over the increasing amount of foreign nationals being employed in the Isle of Man.

Alex Downie points out the benefits it has for the Manx economy and workforce.

He says the majority of Doctors are from off Island and there are a large number of nurses as well.

In Tynwald this week, there was concern over growing levels of immigrants.

There has been a drop in the number of work permits in the Isle of Man in the past year.

And there has been concern in Tynwald that some foreigners do not speak English and have different religions, which could cause social divisions in the future.

But Mr. Downie says the island has a good work permit team:
