Partington secures superb sixth

by isleofman.com 24th March 2006
It’s been a successful time for the Isle of Man on day eight of the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. In temperatures touching the 90s, Steve Partington clinched sixth place in the 50 kilometres race walk in a time of four hours, 25 minutes 39 seconds. It was an impressive performance from the Laxey athlete, competing in his sixth games, and particularly sweet after his illness in Kuala Lumpar in 1998 and his late disqualification In Manchester four years ago.
