Police are warning Manx residents about a bogus gardener.

It’s believed the man from the North of the Island is targeting elderly residents.

Stuart Peters reports:

Police say the man appears to be adopting unscrupulous business practices.

The man calls at pensioners’ homes and tells them he’s been getting complaints about the size of a tree in their garden.

He then offers to cut down the tree for a set fee.

It is believed he drives a red van – possible a Ford Transit and has called at a number of addresses in the north.

Police are advising people to only employ a reputable gardener and check with the forestry board before getting rid of any trees.
