Cavendish misses out on medal

Mark Cavendish has finished seventh in the Commonwealth games 100 miles road race.

He was given ample support by team member Andrew Roche who finished 22nd.

Andrew said, try as they might, they didn't have it in them to make up the distance on the leading trio. (audio 1)

The race was won by the Australian Matthew Hayman.

Tim Glover says Mark acquitted himself very well considering what he was up against: (audio 2)

Andrew Cooke had the misfortune of a crash just after the start which took him out of the race.
