Harbour water levels drop

by isleofman.com 27th March 2006
The water retention scheme in Douglas failed this afternoon, with a loss in water levels inside the gates.

Electrical problems allowed water to escape, triggering alarms.

Harbour Control says engineers are currently at the scene investigating the cause and the gate has been raised by a backup system.

Director of Harbours Mike Brew says an investigation is underway and the gate will be monitored closely.
