New Hartford home in Peel

by isleofman.com 28th March 2006
Hartford Homes has been told it can put an extra house in a Peel development despite objections from neighbours.

An application for seven houses to be built on land between Rheast Lane and The Links has been backed by DLGE Minister John Rimington.

Jason Roberts reports:

An original planning application had seen four houses planned for the site, but in separate approvals this had been increased to six, with Hartford Homes applying to split plots to create an extra home.

Neighbours complained that this was similar to a 1998 plan which had been turned down, but planning inspector Michael Hurley said this new plan was significantly different.

He said he didn’t believe it was over-intensive, that traffic would be affected or the environment damaged.

Mr Rimington agreed with his conclusions, and upheld the planning committee’s decision to give the go-ahead for the development.
