DHSS writes to nursing homes

by isleofman.com 29th March 2006
DHSS Minister Steve Rodan has made a renewed plea to nursing home managers to hold off price rises until an investigation by the Office of Fair Trading has run its course.

The probe has just got underway, and Mr Rodan has written to five homes: Brookfield, Elder Grange, Springfield, Marathon Court and Abbotswood.

In his letter, he asks them to reconsider proposed rises to ?695 a week as the most the DHSS can afford to pay is ?640.

He says deferring the increases would give time for amicable talks and a future agreement.
