A second half try from flanker Cameron Sayle proved to be the decisive difference between Southern Nomads and Vagabonds B as Nomads won the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield for the first time since 1987/88.
The scores were level at 0-0 after a brutal first forty minutes but, with Nomads having played into a strong wind in the first half it always looked like they would take the game in the second half.
Al Corrin got Nomads underway with a neat drop goal early in the second half but the home crowd were stunned to silence when a Danny Williams penalty levelled the score just five minutes later.

Nomads took a Vagas scrummage against the head deep in the opposing 22.
Damien Brand’s drive was thwarted just short of the line but man of the match Sayle was on hand to pick the ball up and drive home from close range.
Mike Olivier went close for Vagabonds in the dying seconds but it was to be Nomads day.
