Sotherton to attend ‘Welcome Home’ dinner

Heptathlon gold medallist Kelly Sotherton is to attend a ‘Welcome Home’ Dinner for the Isle of Man Commonwealth Games squad.

The British athlete, who has also represented the Isle of Wight at the Island Games, is sponsored by Sleepwell Hotels, which is hosting the event at the Claremont Hotel on Friday evening.

It’s free for team members, officials and family members but additional guests will have to pay a fee of ?10.

The Melbourne Commonwealth Games was the Isle of Man’s most successful ever, with a gold medal for cyclist Mark Cavendish and bronze for trap shooters David Walton and Trevor Boyles.
