Don't suffer in silence

It is treatable - it is curable - but many who have it suffer in silence.

Bowel cancer is one of the most common forms of the disease. However, many people who could be helped, put up with the symptoms rather than see the doctor and receive timely and possibly life saving treatment.

A new drive is under way in the Isle of Man urging people to report any unusual changes to their doctor.

A recent advertising campaign used the message; `Don't blush, look before you flush`.

Local resident, Heather Norman was diagnosed with bowel cancer five years ago and now has a clean bill of health. She says "if in doubt seek expert advice":
