The Isle of Man’s fire and rescue service is praising a family in the North of the Island after they took sensible measures during a house fire.
Fire crews were called out to a remote farmhouse in Kirk Michael on Saturday lunchtime.
They spent 2? hours at a property in Baltic Road putting out a bedroom fire.
The fire established itself behind decorative boarding over an old fireplace.
The damage was fairly extensive although it was restricted to one room because the family closed all doors behind them as they left the house.
