A major survey of public opinion is to be carried out in the Isle of Man on an issue which is certain to draw the strongest of responses.
Every household is to be asked its views on whether an all-island, national speed limit should be introduced.
It would mean the end of the Island's famous de-restricted routes.
But according to its supporters a 60 miles-per-hour limit would cut the number of fatal accidents.
The latest figures show that of the 39 people who died in road accidents here over the past three years, 30 lost their lives on roads with no limits.
