Castletown charges

The chairman of Castletown Commissioners says the local authority has taken a ‘considered approach’ over its new charges for organisations using the town’s civic centre and boardroom.

From last weekend, the cost of using the facilities increased, prompting an angry response from conservation group, Castletown Heritage, which asked for the decision to be reviewed.

However, board chairman Kevin Weir, says the increase is far from extortionate:
